Tomorrow in Present Tense (2010)

Tomorrow in present tense is a piece on physical topographies and inner borders, touching upon notions of proximity and distance, intimacy and rupture. Starting off from the primal matter and structure of space, language and the social framework, we commenced a research by asking people to articulate their vision of the future using the present tense. Through this process time borders where bridged and limiting coordinates transcended. Tomorrow in present tense reveals on stage an illusion of this temporal and spatial condensation, retaining a suspended fragility of the moment in a fleeting world.

The choreographies of Alexandra Waierstall stand out with their great sensitivity and poetic energy. After “Crossing Borders” and “InFluid Times”, in which she investigated group constellations in static states and permanent flow,  ’Tomorrow in Present Tense’ is now her third production for an evening show. Alexandra Waierstall, hailed as one of the most promising choreographers of the young generationin the 2007 yearbook of the trade magazine ballet-tanz, has already been invited to perform her works in China, the U.K., Norway, Spain, Greece, and Cyprus amongst others.
